Jan Blanken cycle route
The Jan Blankenroute is an extensive cycle route through the area where the water works of engineer Jan Blanken (1755 - 1838) define the landscape. A wonderful cycle route suitable for e-bikes to get to know the New Dutch Waterline, the largest national monument in the Netherlands, and the very latest part of Utrecht. You cycle along the centuries-old Diefdijk and past uniquely located forts, through historic fortified towns and polders with beautiful views.
It is a long cycle route, but along the way there are plenty of opportunities to recharge yourself and your electric bike or stay overnight. Still prefer a shorter route? Then switch to the waterworks route at junction 40.

This route follows the cycle junction network. Recognisable by the green and white signs with two numbers. The route starts at the Tourist Transfer Point (TOP). Prefer a shorter route? Then change to the Waterworks cycle route at junction 40.
