The Wiel van Bassa (also known as Schoonrewoerdse Wiel or Kruidhofwiel) is a 13-hectare whirlpool, making it the largest breakthrough wheel in the Netherlands. It is located on the west side of the Diefdijk, about a kilometre east of Schoonrewoerd.
The wheel was created in 1573 during a breach of the Diefdijk. At the site, the dyke crosses the sandy ridge of a fossil river, making it a weak spot for centuries. The kolk is up to about eight metres deep. Orchards, hay fields and a number of farmsteads are located on a thick layer of sandy soil overlain from the wheel. The vast majority of the wheel and surrounding land is owned by the South Holland Landscape, most issued on long lease. There are two recognised monuments near the wheel; the Dordt House and farm De Kruithof.
The Green Frog Route runs through the area, this marked walking route is about 2.5 kilometres long.
