In the footsteps of Emperor Wilhelm II
This cycle route brings the story of Emperor Wilhelm II to life. You cycle through the beautiful, wooded area of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and along the way you pass the castles where Emperor Wilhelm II stayed: Huis Doorn and Amerongen Castle. Both castles can be visited with a guide and tell the story of the Emperor in exile. Estates such as Landgoed Zonheuvel, with the beautiful Maarten Maartenshuis, Parc Broekhuizen, Landgoed Zuylestein and Landgoed Maarsbergen are also well worth a visit. In short, a cycling tour that introduces you to the cultural heritage of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug.
