Zuylestein country estate
On the border between Leersum and Amerongen along the Utrecht-Arnhem provincial road (N225) is the main entrance to the fourteenth-century Zuylestein estate.
Through a monumental entrance gate built in the nineteenth century by Roermond architect P. Cuypers (Rijksmuseum and Central Station Amsterdam), you enter a historic park that is unique in the Netherlands for its entirely intact original Renaissance style.
Take a nice walk, bike ride or visit the vegetable garden and estate shop!
Kitchen garden and estate shop
The Zuylestein estate shop sells Zuylestein's 'harvest'. You'll find vegetables, fruits, eggs, pork, homemade jams and various nutritious cereals (including bread), among other things. The estate shop can be found in The Orangery and is open on Fridays and Sundays from 11am to 5pm.
