Cycling past Utrecht breweries
Get on your bike from TOP Fort bij Vechten and cycle towards the centre of Utrecht where you will pass Stadskasteel Oudaen, a castle with a story and a brewery. Continue towards 'the new city' where you will come across the next craft attraction: Brewery Maximus with a nice variety of delicious beers. Through varied landscape, you first cycle in the direction of Maarssen and Vleuten before cycling along the Vecht and the Maarsseveense Plassen via Noorderpark Ruigenhoek towards De Bilt. A varied landscape with several locations of UNESCO World Heritage Hollandse Waterlinies on the route. After Bilt, you'll end up in Zeist where you can visit (by appointment) Hoog Beek en Royen, a country estate with vineyard! Finally, the route leads back to TOP Fort near Vechten.

Oudaen City Castle
In the wharf cellar of Stadskasteel Oudaen, some 75,000 litres of beer are brewed every year using traditional methods. You can take a guided tour or do beer tasting here by appointment.
Maximus Brewery
In its brewery, Maximus uses steam to brew craft beers on its own copper plant. Pure water, barley, hops and yeast form the basis of the beers. You can enjoy the various beers in the tasting room.
Forts
Nice to know is that on this cycling tour you will also pass no less than 7 forts of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie.
