Cycling route Utrecht Waterlinie-noord
This cycle route takes you from the heart of Utrecht in 20 minutes to the Noorderpark-Ruigenhoek, a beautiful nature and recreation area. Here you experience how beautiful and peaceful nature can be close to the busy city. You also cycle past rural Westbroek and a stretch of the Loosdrechtse Plassen. You pass four beautiful forts of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie, Fort Blauwkapel, Fort Ruigenhoek, Fort Maarsseveen and Fort aan de Klop. At the latter two you can enjoy a snack or drink on the terrace.
Together with the Stelling van Amsterdam, the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie forms the UNESCO World Heritage Hollandse Waterlinies.
