Rondje Haarzuilens is a beautiful walking route that lets you discover the area around Kasteel de Haar. This walking route offers something for everyone. Are you walking with children? Then make a stop at experience farm Geertjeshoeve or take the adventurous path in Parkbos de Haar.
For those who want to walk a bit further, you can extend the route with a walk through the castle gardens and park, together more than 55 hectares in size. Check out the maze and the large deer park.

Kasteel de Haar
Combine this walk with a visit to Kasteel de Haar, the largest castle in the Netherlands. This castle was rebuilt by Pierre Cuypers, known for Rijksmuseum and Amsterdam's central station, into a true gesamtkunstwerk. Over the years, the castle has welcomed famous guests such as Roger Moore and Brigitte Bardot.
Park forest de Haar
Past Kasteel de Haar, you walk to Parkbos de Haar. This young forest was created by Natuurmonumenten in 2015 and is still developing. Halfway through the Parkbos, turn right and walk behind the castle and castle gardens through another nature reserve owned by Natuurmonumenten. The path leads right through the meadows, past cows and water.
Haarzuilens
After this beautiful nature reserve, you walk a little along the road to soon arrive at Boomgaard De Boswachter. This orchard was planted by Natuurmonumenten and grows old fruit varieties of cherries, plums, apples and pears. You can picnic under the trees here and also pick and taste fruit during harvest time! After the orchard, you walk through the village centre of Haarzuilens with its protected townscape. A special village with hospitable catering establishments to have a delicious drink or lunch.

Description
You can start the route in three ways:
If you come by car, the route starts from the car park of Geertjeshoeve, Thematerweg 5 Haarzuilens (Vleuten-de Meern) or from the car park at Haarzuilens. Both car parks have paid parking.
If you come by public transport, your route starts at bus stop Kasteel de Haar. From the bus stop, walk south towards junction 51 - the Park Forest.
This route follows the walking junction network, recognisable by the yellow route signs with blue numbers and arrows.
