Leerdam is known as the glass capital of the Netherlands for good reason. After the glass factory opened in the 18th century, a flourishing glass industry developed in Leerdam, which is still very much visible in the city today. The National Glass Museum is the Netherlands’ greatest glass treasure trove, bar none! What makes the National Glass Museum unique is its own glassworks, located in an old timber warehouse near the marina. You can get a close-up look at the craft here six days a week.
