Doortraproute Vleuten
On this transit route, you will cycle through the village of Vleuten, Leidsche Rijn, De Meern and Harmelen on mainly cycle paths or roads with bicycle lanes and car-free roads. You will pass, among others, the magnificent Kasteel de Haar, the largest castle in the Netherlands. Along the way, there are a number of nice catering establishments along the way.

If you come by public transport, it is best to start from Vleuten train station. Leave the station via John F Kennedylaan (bicycle lane), which turns into Van Woerdenstraat. At the junction with Dorpsstraat, straight ahead down Camphuysenstraat until the junction with Haarzichtlaan. Straight ahead, Haarzichtlaan, at the Y-junction keep left, Haarzichtsingel. At the T-junction, turn right, Thematerweg (cycle path). You are now on the route towards junction 13.

tart at the car park of Natuurmonumenten (Landgoed Haarzuilens), Thematerweg 5, Vleuten. Paid parking is available at this car park. For current prices and payment methods: www.natuurmonumenten.nl/de-natuur-in/parkeerbijdrage. Members of Natuurmonumenten can park for free. Turn right at the end of the car park, Thematerweg (cycle path). At T-junction with Poortwachterslaan, cross over and continue to follow the cycle path on the right-hand side of the road. Junction 13.
Turn left, Maarssenseweg (cycle path). Junction 16.
Turn right, Strandboulevard (cycle path). Immediately after the small bridge, turn left at the T-junction. At the 2nd T-junction, turn left again (cycle path). Go through the tunnels under the road. Cross over at priority junction with traffic lights. Junction 24.
Turn left (cycle path). Junction 20.
Turn right (cycle path),Belcampostraat. Turn left at T-junction. Junction 19.
Turn right, Hogeweide (cycle path). Junction 19.
Turn right, Groenedijk (watch out for bollards!). At right of way junction with Langerakbaan, cross the right of way junction. Junction 21.
Turn left, Het Lint Hoge Woerd (footpath/cycle path). At T-junction with cycle path, turn left and immediately right, Castellumlaan (cycle path/cycle lane). Junction 76.
Turn right, Zandweg. At priority junction, go straight ahead, continuing to follow Zandweg. Junction 32.
Straight ahead, Harmelerwaard. After the T-junction with Sportlaan, follow a cycle path. At the end of the cycle path, turn left over the drawbridge. Turn right, Dorpsstraat (cycle lane). Junction 36.
Straight on and after the bridge turn left, Dorpsstraat (cycle lane turns into cycle path). At roundabout, go straight ahead, Leidsestraatweg (cycle path). At 2nd roundabout, go straight ahead, Leidsestraatweg (cycle path). Junction 74.
Straight ahead (cycle path), Leidsestraatweg. Turn left (cycle path), through the tunnels under the railway. Junction 73.
Straight ahead, Leidsestraatweg. Turn right, Gerverscop. Keep left at the Y-junction, Gerverscop. Follow the bend to the right, staying on Gerverscop. Junction 9.
Turn right (cycle path), Kortjaksepad. Junction 10.
Turn left, Lagehaarsedijk. Turn left at T-junction (cycle path on the left), Rijndijk. Junction 11.
Turn right, Bochtdijk. You are now passing Kasteel de Haar. After the castle, follow a cycle path (attention: posts at the beginning/end of the cycle path!). Turn left at the T-junction, Eikslaan. Junction 12.
Turn right, Thematerweg (cycle path on the left). Junction 40.
Straight ahead and you arrive back at the car park.
