Theetuin Den Heyligenberg

Theetuin de Heyligenberg is open. The greenhouse looks bright with the new glass. A little sunshine and you can sit there blissfully.

Now you can pleasantly use some in the cottage, soup, quiche, pie etc. The shop is now open. We have a basic assortment for your daily organic groceries. From our own garden there are leeks, red cabbage and sprouts. Turnip greens and spinach have already been sown and I expect the first harvest in early April. Many of the longer-growing vegetables have already been sown/planted: broad bean, carrots and onion, pods. What we don't get from the garden comes from the region and from further afield from The New Granary. It is a small range but clearly more than vegetables,fruit, butter cheese and eggs etc. We are Leusden's organic shop.

The volunteers have harvested the medlars. There has been enough frost. As a result, they quickly soften and then they are delicious to eat raw and or processed into medlar puree.

Every day, for instance, there is something to tell about the garden: the nesting holes for ring snakes we made and where we found hundreds of hatched eggs in September, Elmar Mook's bees (beekeeper de OASE), from which we now have our own organic honey again, and about a summer full of visitors. All this happens thanks to many volunteers(M/F), who weed, lug, harvest, bake, wash up, keep the shop in order, make jam and fruit sauce....

In the greenhouse is a beautiful stove. That makes it possible to be open in winter too. We are now open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 7pm for coffee, tea, cake, sandwich, quiche and soup.

OPENING hours are 1 October to mid-March:

Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 12.00 to 19.00. Then you are welcome in the greenhouse. There the stove purrs. And if the gate is open at other times then you are also welcome.

On other days of the week, though, you can make reservations for parties and other gatherings.
