With impressive overhanging roofs and carved wooden mouldings, the beautiful platform roof, balconies and windows with skylights, it still has the allure of a grand villa in neo-Renaissance style with chalet motifs. For the nearby Soestdijk Palace, it housed a royal waiting room. The presumed architect of the station and thus also of the royal waiting room is L. van Gendt.
