Imagine yourself back in time as you walk down the narrow service staircase to the rooms hidden behind the rich interiors.

What was it like to work for an ex-emperor 100 years ago?
What did it take to keep a household running in a large mansion and what were social relations like? During the special tour, you will find out all about the servants, their jobs and visit the places where their lives took place. Where did the chamberlain sleep? What were the activities of a laundry maid? What instruments did the personal physician who assisted Empress Auguste Victoria in the last years of her life use?

Experience history
The belongings and furniture of the emperor's servants were stored in the depot for decades. Now they are back in the attic, bringing history to life in the servants' original rooms.

Special tour of the servants' quarters
You experience Huis Doorn from a different perspective and take the servants' route. From the kitchen in the basement, to the serving room next to the dining room and via the staff staircase to the attic. The attic shows the rooms of the chamberlain, chamberlain, body doctor, as well as the silver polishing room, the uniform room and the flat of one of the daughters of Wilhelm II's second wife.

Accessibility
Museum Huis Doorn has an authentic layout and interior, without a passenger lift. As a result, the staff rooms are unfortunately not accessible for prams, wheelchairs and rollators.
