Katla's ship is waiting in the attic: a recreated Scandinavian freighter in which you can take a seat yourself. Through an animation, you will experience the last leg of her journey, twelve centuries back in time. Downstairs, in the Dorestad room, you admire archaeological finds that make everyday life, trade and encounters between cultures tangible.

In the scale craft house, you will meet residents who will tell you about their work and tools: from axes and spinning wheels to flutes and pottery. So you can see what life was really like in Dorestad. The highlight is the large model of the town, with warehouses, dams and ships on the river, a beautiful panorama that brings the past closer than ever.
