On this walk, you’ll discover just how special the landscape on the outskirts of Amersfoort is. Where there used to be meadows and fields, you’ll now find a varied nature reserve with reed beds, marshes and flower-filled hay meadows. The old landscape, with its streams, has been brought back to life here.
There is also plenty for birdwatchers to discover. The area is home to some remarkable birds, such as the kingfisher, bluethroat and sand martin. Listen to the birds, take a good look around you and enjoy everything that grows and blooms.

On this walk, you’ll discover just how special the landscape on the outskirts of Amersfoort is. Where there used to be meadows and fields, you’ll now find a varied nature reserve with reed beds, marshes and flower-filled hay meadows. The route takes you through different parts of the nature reserve. Along the way, you’ll walk alongside the Barneveldse Beek and discover how water and nature come together. The variety of open grasslands, reeds and woodland makes this walk particularly beautiful.
Halfway along the route, you can stop for a break at Landwinkel De Kopermolen. It’s a lovely spot to enjoy a cup of coffee before continuing your walk.
