Stormpad Breeveen
Between KP 12 and 52 is the entrance to Stormpad Breeveen: The fall wind that raged over the village of Leersum on 18 June 2021 also blew down 16 hectares of the forest in Breeveen. Utrechts Landschap chose to leave the blown down forest to give nature a chance to restore itself. The Stormpad winds some 800 metres through the affected area. A wooden staircase leads to a 1.5-metre-high decking path. From here, the 'mikado' of fallen trees and dead branches is clearly visible. During your visit, you get a unique glimpse of the effects of the storm and the forest's ability to recover.
Countryside Den Treek-Henschoten
The route continues across the Utrechtse Heuvelrug past Maarn. At KP 46, you continue through the Den Treek-Henschoten estate. The Treeker Info Punt is also located here. Here you can find extensive information
in words and pictures about the management, nature and culture on the estate and about the primeval forest.
