Waterline route
The cycle route starts at TOP Vianen and passes a number of forts and fortifications of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie.
Vianen was a Free City in the Middle Ages; a place with its own rules and a place of refuge for 'strangers with money' Along the way, you will be surprised by the old villages of Hagestein and Zijderveld. Highlights on the route include the castle site of the former house Hagestein, Fort Everdingen, the historical ribbons with authentic farms and the Stuweiland Hagestein (Ossenwaard) with its lock and dam complex.

Description
This route follows the white-and-green junction signs of the cycle route network. The starting point is Toeristisch Overstappunt (TOP) Vianen. On the route, you cross river De Lek twice.
