Fort Everdingen is the imposing, sturdy home of brewery Duits&Lauret. The Fort near Everdingen is an imposing fortress that together with Fort Honswijk and the Lek could provide hermetic closure of the region. An Artillery shed from 1875 houses the brewing plant of Brouwerij Duits & Lauret. Here, beer is brewed with 'fortress water'. The Contrescarp contains an ingenious water filtration system. Through the roof of the Contrescarp, the water is filtered and drips via kettles into a water basin underground over a period of three months. In the past, this water was used as drinking water by the men. Now it serves as a source for brewing, creating unique beer in a sustainable way.

The brewers here serve their beer to visitors and also offer small snacks. The tasting room is located in one of the on-site genius sheds, right next to the tower fort, and is separated from the brewing facility by a glass partition.
