Het Lokaal: pure, tasty and fresh

Het Lokaal is a shop and restaurant for and with regional products, in the city centre of Amersfoort. We are located in two old sheds of the former glue and soap factory in De Nieuwe Stad, along the Eem river.

The shop is full of local goodies. Regional products, preferably made within 50 kilometres of Het Lokaal. Fresh bread is baked every day by Elsenburg & Sebastiani bread makers. Boot Koffie roasts their 'ultra limited editions' in their micro-roastery at the back of the restaurant. It doesn't get any more local than that!

Something tasty for everyone
From Tuesday to Sunday, the restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, drinks or a good cup of coffee with some goodies from the bakery. The lunch menu features sandwiches, each with the name of a local flavour. Think Stroese Dame (goat's cheese sandwich) or Van de Vis (fried egg sandwich). There is also plenty of choice for vega(n)s: falafel, oyster mushroom croquettes or a delicious filled salad.

We not only show in the shop where and by whom the products are made. We also like to promote local makers in our restaurant!

Dinner: basically vegan, expansion possible
Wednesday to Saturday evenings, The Local is also open for dinner. Dinner is a set menu, made of what the season and the country have to offer today. So this can be different every day! That's why you don't choose from a long menu. The only doubt is: how many courses will you go for? Extending the main course with meat or fish is always possible (for an extra charge).

Meeting, party or cooking class?
The Lokaal is even more than just a shop and restaurant. Two rooms above our warehouse can be rented for meetings, workshops and other group gatherings.

Want to throw a party? Nice! We are happy to think along with you about the possibilities.
