LIZ Restobar - Buitenplaats Amerongen

LIZ Restobar is an atmospheric restobar, located in the former horse stables of Amerongen country estate. From tasty lunch, drinks on the terrace to an evening of fine dining. The monumental building has one of the most authentically preserved stable interiors in the Netherlands and has been given the atmosphere and décor of a metropolitan restaurant, while retaining the historical elements.

LIZ Restobar is open from Monday to Sunday from 11.30 am for people who want really good food but don't fancy the formal fine dining atmosphere. From tasty lunch, drinks on the terrace to an evening of fine dining. The menu is inspired by the seasons and ingredients from Dutch soil combined with flavours from around the world. History
Countess Elisabeth Von Ilsemann - Van Aldenburg Bentinck, born in 1892, lived at Amerongen Castle and was known far and wide for her love of animals. She meant a lot to animals and organisations that prevented animal suffering. For instance, she was the founder of the animal home the Hazeberg in Amerongen. Of all animals, the countess perhaps loved her horses the most; these horses stood on the spot where LIZ is now located.

By bicycle
There are wonderful cycling routes to Liz Restobar. From Veenendaal-de Klomp station and Veenendaal-West, it's a lovely bike ride of about 40 minutes. There is a large bicycle shed in front of the castle grounds with two charging stations for electric bikes.

By public transport
Liz Restobar is easily accessible by bus. Take bus 50 (Utrecht-Wageningen) and get off at the Amerongen Dorp stop.

By car
You can park for free at Toeristisch Overstappunt De Groene Entree - from here it is a 15-minute walk to the restaurant. Opposite the buitenplaats is also a car park where you can park for free, and if this is full you can also park in the surrounding streets. So there are plenty of options closer by.
