Stichting Opvang de Ezelsociëteit
Location
Elderly and disabled donkeys find a nice home at our visitor site in Zeist and other locations in the Netherlands. At the donkey sanctuary, elderly and disabled donkeys are provided with a home. In addition, we take in donkeys that have been confiscated by, for example, the animal welfare authorities, but also donkeys that are in danger of ending up on the streets due to other circumstances.
Donkeys that come in but do not yet fall into the elderly and disabled categories are transferred to one of our 250 foster addresses throughout the country. At the Zeist location, there are around 25 donkeys. Here you can visit the donkeys, brush and cuddle them in the meadow and take a walk with them through the forest. There is also a shop with a terrace to unwind.

Want to know something about the donkeys? Then ask one of the volunteers walking around! The foundation is enormously grateful for the volunteers and also depends on donations. These donations and all expenses on the terrace and the shop benefit the donkeys. The Donkey Society is open every day, will you drop by sometime?
To walk with a donkey, you need to make a reservation. To do so, check the website for available dates and times!
