In 2015, to mark the 750th anniversary of Oudewater's city rights, this famous townsman was rescued from oblivion by an open-air exhibition of full-size reproductions of his works on facades in the historic town centre.
After the anniversary year 2015, the Gerard David Oudewater Foundation was created with the aim of expanding the exhibition indefinitely so that everyone can continue to see the works of this extraordinary painter.
