About Korenmolen De Windotter
Standing on the southern corner of the fortress wall of old IJsselstein, the silhouette of Korenmolen De Windotter from 1732, together with that of the two churches, characterises the image of the fortified town. The mill is also a dynamic working business monument. It grinds about 1,000 kg per day. The sails are 26 metres in diameter. At the mill, wheat is ground into wholemeal flour and flour is sifted into flour. Rye, barley, oats, spelt, maize and buckwheat are also ground there. The mill runs at least five days a week and supplies honest and artisanal products to many bakers, restaurants and wholesalers. In addition, everyone is welcome in the mill shop where a wide range of mill products can be found.

This mill is one of the largest in the Netherlands and has been fully operational since its restoration in 1987. Miller Maarten Dolman, a master in the traditional corn miller's guild, runs the mill business together with his wife Lia and many volunteers. He is one of 40 professional millers in the Netherlands, a craft that has been on the Unesco World Heritage List since 2017.

Tea Dome
The tea dome was built next to the mill in 1812. Its atmospheric space and unique location make the tearoom a very special meeting place. The tearoom can be rented on request for all kinds of occasions, such as a meeting, high tea, lunch or breakfast.

Mill shop
The mill shop behind the mill is also worth a visit. Besides the mill's milling products, you will find many kinds of flour products and baking supplies, also for allergy sufferers. You can also find original gifts and special mill products here, such as the beautiful and tasty beers from the Windotter.

Mill shop opening hours are:
Wednesday: 10.00-16.00
Friday: 10.00-17.00
Saturday: 10.00-16.00

Guided mill tours:
Every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 2pm, except summer holidays.
A guided tour costs 2.50 per person and children under 4 are free.
