A cosy, pleasant and nostalgic regional museum with all sorts of small displays of items from farm and country life in the past, staffed by enthusiastic volunteers.
Tour guides' great stories make the visit extra fascinating. Except for a small attic, everything is completely wheelchair accessible, there is even a disabled toilet and bus parking.Streekmuseum Vredegoed is located in beautiful area near the Noorderpark, De Vecht and the Loosdrechtse Plassen.
Museum Vredegoed is part of a monumental longhouse farm with front house, built in 1906 to a design by W. van Vreeswijk to house a dairy farm and cheese dairy. The yard still features the authentic wagon shed from that period.
