History of Woerden
Stadsmuseum Woerden is located in the former town hall, the place where justice used to be done. The pillory on the museum façade is a reminder of this. Very special is the Vroedschapszaal with its oak panelling from 1610 and historical furnishings. On the top floor of the museum, from mid-July 2023, there will be a brand new exhibition on the history of Woerden. You will see Roman and medieval archeological finds such as an unusual parade helmet, an asparagus knife and a medieval sword.
