Loenersloot Castle
Until the end of last century, Loenersloot Castle was inhabited for over 750 years. The keep, built around 1250, is the proud heart of the hidden castle. The castle was once inhabited by robber knight Splinter van Loenersloot. It underwent extensive restoration in 2012 and 2013, and since May 2013 a significant part of it has been open to the public. Many rooms in the castle still breathe the atmosphere of the 18th century.
From April to October, guided tours are available on Friday and Saturday mornings(11.30 am) and Friday and Saturday afternoons (1.30 pm). Registration for these tours is necessary (!) and can be done via the castle's website. A guided tour lasts about an hour and a half.
