Rich regents used to sway the sceptre at Groeneveld Castle, now the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture, and Innovation. The eighteenth-century mansion and sprawling estate attract many visitors every year. Since 1982, Groeneveld Castle has housed the National Centre for Forests, Nature and Landscape. From 2007, this name was changed to 'Countryside between town and country'. The estate on which the castle lies was recently reconstructed to the situation at the turn of the century, i.e. it was laid out in the English landscape style. It is an ideal terrain for walkers and nature lovers. The park has a marked walking route and an assignment trail for children. The 18th-century kitchen garden, located along the drive to the castle, has also been restored to its former glory and can be visited.
