Landgoed De Paltz is a beautiful old estate designed in 1876 by landscape architects Copijn and Springer, and is located in the leafy woods between Soesterberg airbase and Soestduinen. The nature reserve of about 77 hectares on the van Weerden Poelmanweg is now owned by the province of Utrecht. The landscape is part of the Heuvelrug and is managed by Het Utrechts Landschap.

The grounds consist of beech avenues, lines of sight, water features, a stately villa, a coach house and a shepherd's house. The private individuals who have owned it over the years have left their signatures. This makes De Paltz a varied estate with surprising details. The estate has been open to the public since 9 May 2014. There is a marked walking trail of 3.4 km. Guided tours take place regularly.
