The Zouweboezem is a beautiful nature reserve in the Vijfheerenlanden that was created to pump excess water towards the River Lek. The water was stored in the reed beds surrounding the Zouwe. Because water is stored in the Zouweboezem, the flow comes to a brief standstill. It gives you a moment to reflect. Birds nest in the still waters and pools. It is a resting place for migratory birds. A quiet area. A place to pause and reflect. This environment is the inspiration for the ‘Boezemverhalen’ project.
