Skating at Duurstede

Schaats bij Duurstede is an event specially designed to introduce children to the sport of skating and keep this beautiful Dutch tradition alive. After all, skating in winter is no longer taken for granted these days.

Ice skating, whatever the weather

Due to changing winters, natural ice is less and less obvious. Therefore, during Schaats bij Duurstede, children will skate on a synthetic ice rink. This way, children can still experience how fun and special skating is, regardless of the temperature outside.

Accessible for all children

Children can bring their own skates and use them at the ice rink. Doesn't a child have skates? No problem. There are loaner skates available, so everyone can join in. Thus, Schaats bij Duurstede is accessible to all children, with or without their own equipment.

Movement and fun

Schaats bij Duurstede is all about fun, exercise and getting to know the sport of skating in a safe and accessible environment. An activity that is not only fun, but also contributes to the preservation of a piece of sporting tradition.
