This fairytale land and water gate from 1400 was part of the former city wall.
In about 30 minutes, you will discover all the 'secrets' during a complete tour in and on top of the gate; a surprising experience! This is exclusive and only possible with a guide from Gilde Amersfoort. You can experience for yourself what a wheelwright is and whoever has walked in one of the treadmills will receive the Wheelwright Certificate! Very exciting and interesting for children too!
The Koppelpoort can be visited by appointment, and there is no minimum number of participants per tour. At least the rate for 5 adults is charged.
Tip: You can also visit the Koppelpoort during Gilde Amersfoort's "daily" approach walks. You don't need to make an appointment for this.
In 2016, the Koppelpoort was given a beautiful three-dimensional experience through a new lighting design. The architectural details of this special monument now stand out much better.
