Grebbeberg military field of honour
The biggest battle fought by Dutch soldiers in WWII took place on Grebbeberg. Here, poorly armed, untrained men held out for three days against an overpowering and ruthless opponent. Grebbeberg Military Field of Honour is the final resting place for more than 800 servicemen and 1 civilian who fell during World War II. It is located on Grebbeberg near Rhenen. A few square kilometres of battlefield, full of stories about the courage of despair in the Netherlands.
The information centre, with an exhibition on the events at Grebbeberg during "The Battle of Grebbeberg" in May 1940, is open daily from 9am-5pm.
