Museum Hoge Woerd
Location
In Utrecht's Leidsche Rijn district, a sustainable cultural park has sprung up on the site of a 2,000-year-old Roman fort. Walk along the six-metre high ramparts of the Roman fort. Along the way, you will learn all about 3,000 years of living in this area, life on the Roman frontier (the Limes) and, of course, the Roman ship and its unique inventory.
Museum Hoge Woerd is located in Castellum Hoge Woerd, a modern interpretation of a Roman fort. Behind the high walls, apart from Museum Hoge Woerd, are Podium Hoge Woerd theatre, the stables and gardens of Steede Hoge Woerd with an educational centre for nature and environmental education and café-restaurant CastellumCafé.
Castellum Hoge Woerd offers a contemporary programme full of culture, nature and archaeology.
