Young Heritage
During this city walk along Nieuwegein's valuable Post 65 heritage you will learn more about special architecture from the period 1965 to 1990.
The walk starts at the high-rise flat blocks of Nijpelsplantsoen in City. These were realised due to the housing shortage in the late 1960s. Then you are led through the renovated city centre to the Doorslag district. The maze-like structure of this district may start to dizzle you, but during the walk, the idea behind this urban planning becomes clear.
You will learn more about architecture and urban planning, as well as why these Post 65 buildings are so valuable to Nieuwegein's identity. Videos are shared at four locations in which residents and users talk about their experiences of living or working in these buildings.
