So what is a Klompenpad, a Wooden Shoe Walk?
These are walks that for as far as possible take you along unpaved paths, farmland and historic routes. The String and Line Wooden Shoe Path (Lint- en Liniepad) passes by the forts of the New Dutch Water Line, including the Werk aan de Groeneweg, part of the fortifications of nearby Fort Honswijk. In order to camouflage the defence works, orchards were planted around 1930.
