Walk in the Kaapse Bossen along winding forest paths, historic church paths and stately beech avenues. Climb the watchtower De Kaap for a magnificent view of almost the entire Utrechtse Heuvelrug.

The observation tower offers truly spectacular views. That is the reward after climbing watchtower De Kaap. At a single glance, you survey the entire area. Utrecht's Dom tower, the church towers of Amersfoort, the bridge over the Lek near Culemborg. Isn't that the Pyramid of Austerlitz? Vereniging Natuurmonumenten had this wooden watchtower built in 2006 on a hill 40 metres high. The tower itself is over 25 metres high. High enough to look over the forestation. A hundred years ago, there was also a tower here. There used to be many more lookouts on the Hillside. Most of them disappeared. The Cape remained.

You can have lunch at the nearby Chalet Helenaheuvel.
