The history of the leafy Julianapark goes back to the year 1903, when the wealthy Kol family had the park laid out. In 1928, the heirs sold the grounds to the municipality of Utrecht, under the condition that it would remain as a park for 100 years. The municipality made the park public, expanded it and named it Julianapark in 1935.
Meanwhile, Julianapark is a favourite park among residents. You can enjoy walks and picnics, and it regularly hosts fun events and festivals....

The park roughly consists of three parts:
An animal park with the Antje Drijver pavilion. Here you can have a drink at a reasonable price and toilets are available. The Antje Drijver pavilion is open on Wednesday afternoons and weekends.
A more recreational part with a large meadow, a stage hill for cultural activities and a water and sand playground.
A quiet, landscaped part characterised by winding paths and monumental trees.
The park is surrounded by a striking fence with three entrance gates. In the evening, the park is closed. Cyclists and dogs are not allowed in the park.
