The story begins in 2016 during yet another wine evening at the location where the vineyard is now located: on the Merwedekade in Vianen, off the Bolgerijensebrug. As is often the case, the three friends Cyriel, Edwin and Reinier's predilections for certain wine regions returned to the table; Italy, France and Spain. The conversation that evening led to the challenge that surely it should be possible to find wines from a wine country that all three of them think taste fantastic.

Boundless adventure
Even nicer, it seemed to them, was to start making that wine to their own taste. And so began the boundless adventure of their own vineyard. A neglected field of vines of Regent was tackled and the vineyard was gradually expanded with Cabernet Cortis, Sauvigner Gris, Johaniter and Muscaris. From their passion for wine, their different tastes and from acquired knowledge, after several years they have developed delicious wines they are proud of. With attention to every detail, from the vine to the bottle, they make their surprising Merwede wines with their grape varieties.
Guided tour with tasting From vine to bottle, you can experience this process yourself during a guided tour with tasting at Wijnhuis Bolgerijen. What to expect? A guided tour through the vineyard, a look in the production kitchen and finally some delicious wines with snacks to taste.
