Once upon a time, architect Pierre Cuypers sketched a design for a beer hall to be built on Rembrandtplein in Amsterdam. The hall never materialised and the sketches disappeared in a drawer.

In 2011, the beer hall emerged. Here in Leidsche Rijn. That is; the beer hall became a teahouse in the Máxima Park, inspired by Cuypers' sketches. The romantic wooden building with its many pointed roofs and ornate cornices became home to Park restaurant Anafora.

While your kids romp around in the nearby Forest Playground, you can sit here on the terrace overlooking the Viking River. Maybe you want to have a barbecue right on the water? You can. Anafora has a number of barbecue boats. The restaurant is also very popular as a party location for weddings and family celebrations.
