He lived here with his family until his death in 1941. After World War II, the Dutch state confiscated the house and estate as enemy assets. Huis Doorn is now a museum that attracts thousands of visitors every year. The original interior is completely intact and offers an authentic picture of international royal living.

Around Huis Doorn there are several clog paths. The Gerrit Achterbergpad starts at the Wapen van Sandenburg, you get here via the approach route from Huis Doorn. The Utrechtpad (yellow-red) and the LAW Trekvogelpad (red-white) are two long-distance routes found on the map. You will also find the Nederlangbroekse Kastelenpad on the map. These four routes start at village hall De Toekomst (Prinsenplein 3 in Langbroek).

- Follow the trail of the emperor (70 km)
You start this route at Museum Huis Doorn where former Emperor Wilhelm II lived as an exile until his death in 1941. The 42 km route continues past Amerongen Castle, where he stayed for a year and a half. You can choose to cycle only the eastern (21.5 km) or western (20.5 km) part of the route. Via the clog paths you cycle to junction 8, where the route starts. - The Tobacco route
