Family workshop: ‘Your family story on a handkerchief’

Discover how a simple handkerchief can tell a special story during the family workshop ‘Your Family Story on a Handkerchief’ at Woerden City Museum. During this creative workshop, parents, grandparents and children will work together to design a unique handkerchief that reflects their own family. A fun and inspiring activity centred on creativity, history and spending time together.

The workshop begins with a visit to the exhibition ‘Blood, Sweat & Tears – The World of the Handkerchief’. Here, participants discover how handkerchiefs are used in different cultures to pass on stories, traditions and memories. The unique Moluccan ‘lenso’ is also featured. Afterwards, it’s time to get creative. Using colours, symbols and drawings, families work together to create a personalised design. This creates a lasting memento that they can take home with them afterwards.

The family workshop will take place on Wednesday 22 July from 11.00 to 13.00 at Woerden City Museum. The workshop is suitable for families with children aged 7 to 14. Participation costs €7.50 per person, including all materials, a drink and a snack. There is space for a maximum of 16 children, so advance booking is essential.
