Exhibition TOPVORM - Sport + Art in Woerden
Location
Sport plays an important role in the lives of many: whether you are an amateur, top athlete or enthusiastic supporter. It provides relaxation, fun and connection within club life, but also raises challenges such as competition, performance pressure and expectations from coaches or audiences. The exhibition TOPVORM, Sport + Art explores the interfaces between sport and art and shows how sport is a mirror of society.
The exhibition is divided into four themes: amateur sport, the role of clubs and their fans, top sport, and breaking taboos and old patterns. Artists from home and abroad express their views through paintings, textiles, ceramics and video art. Participants include such well-known names as Pat Andrea, Hermanus Berserik, Eline Brontsema, Antoine Peters and Charley Toorop.

A special addition is the audio tour in the app Bloomberg Connect, in which nine Woerden athletes explain their favourite works of art. Their personal stories, objects and experiences make the connection between sport and art tangible. Among them are cyclist Ellen van Dijk, tennis icon Esther Vergeer and talented athletes such as Sven Dekker and Ibtissam Issarti. Sports heroes of the past are also featured, such as cyclist Arie van Vliet and Valbol's volleyball ladies, visible through interactive screens and projections.
From sports hero to art lover: you won't want to miss this exhibition!
