Day trip to the Vreeswijk Museum Shipyard

Step aboard for an atmospheric day trip to the Vreeswijk Museum Shipyard. The boat trip departs at 10.00 am from the jetty at Museum IJsselstein on the Walkade and lasts until around 3.30 pm.

During the trip, you’ll sail via the Hollandse IJssel, the Doorslag and the Merwede Canal towards Vreeswijk. Along the way, you’ll pass under various bridges and pass by striking landmarks, about which the skipper will tell you more as you go. The sailing route alone is well worth the trip.

After about an hour and a half’s cruise, you’ll arrive at the Vreeswijk Museum Shipyard. Here, you’ll have plenty of time to visit the museum. Admission to the museum is included in the day trip price.

After the museum visit, there will be an opportunity to explore Vreeswijk at your leisure, have lunch somewhere or enjoy an ice cream. These expenses are at your own cost. A specific time will be agreed for the return journey, at which everyone must report back to the boat.
