Summer relaxation in the castle gardens

This summer, discover the art of relaxation and come and cool off in the gardens of De Haar Castle. From 4 July to 30 August, the estate transforms into a charming summer retreat for young and old alike. Settle down for a picnic on the grass, go rowing on the Kruisvijver, or challenge each other to a game of croquet, tennis, boules or chess. In between, enjoy an ice cream, a nice glass of wine at Tuynhuis Gabrielle or a leisurely stroll through the gardens.

Outdoor living in style
For over a century, the gardens of De Haar have provided the backdrop for sumptuous summer days. Under centuries-old trees, the baron and his guests from the international jet set found respite from the heat during long summer days filled with games, strolling and socialising. This summer, we’re bringing that atmosphere back to life, right in the heart of the vast historic gardens.

Long summer afternoons
Discover the stories behind the gardens during the ‘Gardens Full of Stories’ guided tour, or explore landscape architect Copijn’s vision at your own pace along the marked walking route. Fancy a summer drink with live music? On Friday afternoons, let yourself be carried away by the warm sounds of Khalil Toumi or Kyle on the terrace of Tuynhuis Gabriëlle.

For the kids
As well as the games, the kids can have fun in the Maze or on the garden treasure hunt ‘The Escaped Animals’. Inside the castle, they can set off with Noet Noet, the talking castle cat, who’ll take them to the secret attic, or learn about the life of the nobility during the treasure hunt ‘Visiting the Baron and Baroness’.
