Reading aloud in the BosBieb

Together with your children to Amelisweerd. Out and about, walking through one of Utrecht's most beautiful forests. Only, how do you make the walk as fun and interesting for your children as it is for you? We have found a solution.

In the attic of Landhuis Oud Amelisweerd is a special BosBieb, with a collection of children's books (2-10 years) about nature, the forest and animals. Here you will find all kinds of fun stories, interesting facts, beautiful illustrations. About what lives in nature, of course. But also about castles and princesses. Something for every child. You can also enjoy reading in the attic. For example, when it is raining or storming.

This BosBieb is a collaboration between Landhuis Oud Amelisweerd and the Utrecht Library. And as you are used to at the Library, you can simply take the books outside. To look things up together while walking, and to find out more. Also great for reading aloud, on a bench or a tree stump in the woods, or on a rug in the sun. And then just bring them back after the walk or picnic. Fun, isn't it? At least the kids think so. We know for sure!

Children up to the age of 12 can always visit Landhuis Oud Amelisweerd for free. On presentation of the Youth Library Card, a child may also bring one guest for free. Of course, the Museumkaart and Museumkaart kids are also valid. Or buy a ticket at the entrance desk. Reservations are not required.

READING MOMENTS
During the reading aloud moment, a book is read about a special nature subject. Every other week at 13:30, you can come and listen and dream away in the magic of the story. Outside the summer holidays on Sundays and in the holidays on Wednesdays. Let yourself be carried away on a journey through nature, and when the book is over, step straight into reality: the beautiful Amelisweerd estate, where nature stories come to life.

Times for reading aloud 13:30 - 14:00 (outside or in the attic) every even week on Sunday.
