Takkenmuseum
From 29 August, IJsselstein will temporarily be home to a special new museum: the Takkenmuseum by artist Maarten Bel. On the Museumplein at Museum IJsselstein, you’ll discover a playful and surprising tribute to something you might normally just walk right past: the branch.
From postmodern and everyday branches to magic branches, ghost branches and much more. At the Branch Museum, artist Maarten Bel explores the branch with a generous dose of imagination and humour. The result is a unique museum that invites you to see the world around you through different eyes.
Maarten Bel (1987) is a multidisciplinary artist who creates projects at the intersection of art and education. From Het Belhuis, his studio in Rotterdam-West, he develops art projects centred on wonder, encounter and participation.
