During the apple-picking days at Nieuw Slagmaat Farm, visitors can pick their own apples, pears, kiwi berries and pumpkins. The event has grown into a cosy autumn festival for young and old alike.

The apple-picking days will take place on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September, and on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September. The orchards are home to well-known apple varieties such as Elstar, Jonagold and Goudreinette, as well as lesser-known varieties. In addition, there are eating pears and cooking pears, kiwi berries, pumpkins and pattisons to pick. Visitors can also learn more about environmentally conscious cultivation through the digital farm tour and information provided in the orchard.

A covered wagon travels between the various orchards. There are also activities such as a maize maze, a farmer’s boot camp and coin digging. Visitors can also meet the beekeeper and the Grass Snake Working Group. For children, there are ponies and a playground. Of course, waffles, poffertjes, Blaarkop burgers and other treats are also available.
