Voices in Dialogue

In the concert ‘Voices in Dialogue’, star soprano Jeannette van Schaik joins top musicians – clarinettist Marieke Vos and pianist Camiel Boomsma – to perform a delightful programme of songs by Schubert, Spohr and Vivaldi.

The three musicians are renowned for their warm and radiant tone, which proved to be a golden combination during a previous collaboration.

Franz Schubert understood the human voice like no other, which is clearly audible in his magnificent songs. In *Der Hirt auf dem Felsen*, Schubert sings of love, hope and despair, with the singing voice and the clarinet regularly blending together seamlessly. The clarinet is perhaps the instrument that comes closest to the human voice. This is also beautifully expressed in Louis Spohr’s 6 Deutsche Lieder.
