Right in the city centre, in three late-medieval walled houses built on the old city wall, you can experience how Amersfoort has changed over the centuries. In the permanent exhibition ‘Amorfortia – A City Full of Stories’ , you ’ll journey from prehistory to the present day. There, you’ll meet the people who together make up the city – from pilgrims and artists to craftspeople, innovators and today’s residents. Through art, unique artefacts and the multimedia city model, you’ll discover Amersfoort in a whole new way.
You can put your newfound inspiration into practice straight away during a creative activity or workshop at the Maak Mee Atelier!
Children can discover all sorts of things too: the exhibition features fun surprises and activities.
The changing art and heritage exhibitions highlight current themes and personal stories that resonate with the city.

Open: Easter Sunday, Ascension Day, Whit Monday, Whit Monday and Boxing Day from 11 am to 5 pm.
On 5, 24 and 31 December, the museum is open until 4pm.
Closed: Christmas Day, New Year's Day and King's Day.
